Calvin and I would like to express our sincere thanks to June Lawniczak for her decade of doing a great job with the PLA bookeeping. A thankless, but extremely important job that she tried to get anyone else to take over at every annual meeting. Thank you June. It was a pleasure working with someone so efficient, dependable and trustworthy.
Bravo! You are right Janice & Calvin! JUNE LAWNICZAK has been an amazing asset to the PLA. I missed the mark when I missed sharing her praises. That's my fault. I hope that June and her family will forgive me as the new Board move into place.Sorry June! John Abbott
After reading the July minutes I saw that it mentioned I had resigned no reason was given in the minutes. Although much time was spent on the subject it was not specified that the resignation was due to the board hiring noninsured laborers to trim our 156 palm trees, making the whole of the association liable for any harm to workers especially the board of directors, I voted not to hire uninsured contractors and resigned from the board because the board voted to do it knowing the risks Al voted yes Sherry voted yes Tom voted yes, and Frank via proxy vote granted Al voted yes. After talking to Tom I believe he now understands the risk but that was two weeks ago and I am not sure what's happening with the board as I am no longer involved. Since the meeting I've talked to our insurance company and found we are not insured in the advent someone gets insured, and that Sherry had asked directly going as far as to tell him that we were going to hire uninsured laborers what can we do? (I'm thinking she wanted to supply them with insurance) He told her not to hire them.
